तलःहृदयम् the centre of the sole of foot. (http://dsal.uchicago.edu/cgi-bin/philologic/getobject.pl?c.2:1:4827.apte).
The central portion of the ventral aspect of the palm and soles are represented by the word tala hrudaya.

Numbers of the above marma:

1 in each of the ventral aspect of both the palms and soles.

Classification category of the above marma:

Mamsa marma; Kalantara pranahara marma.

Measurement of above marma:

1/2 angula (1 cm) in circumference.

Location of above Marma:

In the center of palms and soles respectively.

Method of palpation of above Marma:

In the upper limb:

This can be done by self examination.Keep the palm facing upwards.
Start pressing with the thumb slow and steadily exhibiting equal amount of pressure at different levels starting from the base of the middle finger moving proximally until the base of the wrist in a vertical plane, on the palmar surface.
Note for the variations in the tenderness observed at the varied levels. Atone juncture, the highest point of tenderness can be felt in one particular spot, which is to be ascertained as the talahrudaya.
In other words to say simplified, the tala hrudaya lies almost in the center of the palm.

But, the point of question is one should feel the variations of the tenderness observed at different levels of the palm. Only on doing so systematically,in the initial stages of learning, will we be able top get a precise knowledge regarding the highest point of tenderness.

In the lower limbs:

Start pressing with the both the thumbs held together in approximation, slow and steadily exhibiting equal amount of pressure at different levels starting from the base of the middle toe moving towards the base of the heel in a vertical plane over the sole of foot.

Note for the variations in the tenderness observed at the varied levels. At one junture, the highest point of tenderness can be felt in one particular spot, which is to be ascertained as the talahrudaya.
In other words to say simplified, the tala hrudaya lies almost in the center of the sole.

Anatomical structures related to above Marma:

In the hands underneath the talahrudaya Marma lies the median nerve; Deep Palmar vein; Superficial palmar arch; Palmaris brevis; 2nd & 3rd Lumbrical muscles; tendons of Flexor muscles etc., covered by the Palmar aponeurosis.

In the legs Flexor digitorum brevis; Lateral and medial Plantaris artery;Plantar aponeurosis; Deep plantar vein; Superficial plantar arch.

Name of some of the diseases in which the above marma is tenderful:

Lumbar spondilitis; Cervical spondilitis; calcaneal spur; pes cavus; gouty arthritis; Ankle sprain; Rheumatoid arthritis; Varicose veins due to thrombosis in either deep vein or superficial vein causing edema of foot; Sciatica; Brachialgia; Carpal tunnel syndrome;Wrist sprain; Cervical and Lumbar spondilosis, Plantar fasciitis; Peripheral neuropathy; etc., to name a few have been observed to present with a tenderful spot of Talahrudaya marma
